Record Label: Evolution Chamber
As Evolution Chamber prepares to unleash its own stage at Let It Roll, the world’s leading drum & bass festival, the five-year-strong imprint marks the occasion with a release that serves not just as a showcase, but as a bold declaration of intent.
“Let It Evolve” embodies the creative identity the label has been cultivating over the past five years: uncompromising, dynamic, and distinctly artist-led. From high-concept storytelling to innovative production, each track has been carefully selected not only for its impact but as a reflection of the individuality, ambition, and vision that Evolution Chamber has championed since day one; a sound that doesn’t follow trends but builds its own narrative.
Opening the release is none other than Billain with “Vacuum.” A dark and deadly, twisting descent into his unmistakable Cyberneuro world, the track is a mechanical powerhouse, constantly morphing and shifting, packed with unorthodox precision and pure drive. It’s a heavy, progressive spiral that sets the tone for the EP with undeniable authority.
Next up, Neurogoth Ekwols delivers “This Skin,” a brooding, forward-thinking melodic cut that leans into his emotionally charged style. With his signature vocals, sweeping atmospheres, evocative chord work, and powerfully restrained drum work, it’s a track that balances weight and elegance in equal measure and reaffirms why the Scotsman is carving out such a unique and distinctive lane in modern Drum & Bass.
Anglo-Russian duo Magnetude follow with “Repentance,” an intense, emotionally charged journey that grips from start to finish. Centred around a haunting operatic motif, the track unfolds with raw desperation and powerful urgency. It’s a bold statement from the duo who have built a reputation for channelling deep, unfiltered emotion into precisely crafted music that resonates on both a personal and impactful level.
For the fourth track, rising star Skrimor brings a different flavour with “Chicken Sick.” Crisp, groovy, and impossible to ignore, it’s a rhythmic workout packed with his signature infectious groove and energy. The skip in the drums and flair in the arrangement prove exactly why Skrimor has become one of the most talked-about and sought-after names in recent years.
Closing the release, Swiss trio Task Horizon present “Eternal,” a defining moment on the EP and a bold insight into the next chapter of their sound. The track thrives in contrast with delicate musical motifs weaving through a storm of expert bass design and precision-led percussion. It's cinematic in scale, emotionally resonant, and technically arresting. “Eternal” doesn’t just round off the EP, it’s a signal that Task Horizon are entering a new era.
